  2. Hi, are you planning on putting this out onto regular DVD at all? I just ask for those of us who don't own a Blu Ray player and want to own Alien 2.

  3. The blu-ray looks... I have no word for it... amazing maybe? Stunning? Absurdly good? :) It looks like it was shot yesterday, one of the best transfers I've seen in a long time. And the movie itself is of course great!

  5. Received this today, great to see something like this in glorious quality as it should have been, now let's hope you guys can find other rarities to release. My only complaints were perhaps how barebones the menues were along with the box art; the front cover was nice, but I was hoping for something a bit more decorative to adorn the back.

  6. Sorry, I have to ask you a thing: I'm italian, I live in Italy and I'am a fan of this movie. The question I want to ask is: but this blu-ray... has the italian audio or only the english 2.0? Because I'm not so good in english (I can speak it, more or less, well, but when I hear it... well, ofter I don't understand nothin')... if you answer me, thank a lot, whatever is the answer!

  8. The blu-ray looks amazing. Great job!

The only negatives/criticism I have is with some non-film related aspects of the release:

    1. no original artwork/lobby card art/poster 'slideshow' in the extras - I've seen a few of the 'fotobusta'/lobby cards on ebay before with photos from the film - and I just saw, for the first time last weekend, the Italian locandina and 2f poster on ebay as well, so they are out there! The poster design isn't very great - just a still from the film from the 'alien point-of-view' shot in the bowling alley so I can see why you didn't use it for the cover design, but it would have been cool to see the artwork as an extra in such a definitive edition of the film.

    2. the quality of the Dutch Trailer is really bad. I know it's rare, but it seems like somebody could have done a new transfer from a VHS copy?

    3. the original Italian title of the film is misspelled on the back cover.

These minor gripes aside, this is an amazing film and is the sole Blu-Ray in my collection that truly justifies my "going HD"! I felt like I was back in the DVD Golden Years of Anchor Bay's early releases again while I was watching this.

I can only hope the company succeeds and continues to unearth more obscure, Italian exploitation classics that have been neglected on home video. My wish-list:

The THUNDER trilogy - with a Mark Gregory interview as an extra ;) Where is he now?...

THE DEVIL'S HONEY - one of my favorite Fulci films that has been sadly neglected in the English speaking DVD world...

IL DIO SERPENTE - Emanuelle style film starring Nadia Cassini - awesome soundtrack+beautiful hypnotic scenery would make this a perfect candidate for and HD upgrade from the interlaced Italian DVD.

THE SUMMERTIME KILLER - The rare, full uncut Spanish version would be incredible in HD! One of my favorite Euro-crime films ever w/ one of Luis Bacalov's finest soundtracks.

  9. Does anyone know if the special features on the dvd are going to be the same as on the blu ray?

  10. They will be identical, but the outtakes will be in SD on the DVD.
